Mid-Sussex
Just prior to 1600 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Indian River (80), Bethany Beach (70), Rehoboth Beach (86), Station 91, Medic 106, EMS 100, and Trooper 2 for a water rescue in the area of Masseys Landing and Pot Nets Seaside. Ambulance C-91 responded to Pot Nets Seaside beach area and arrived to find a boat vs jet ski accident with two patients. C-91 was able to access one patient and confirmed a Priority 1. Crews from C-91 and Medic 106 treated and packaged this patient for transport via Trooper 2. While this was happening, crews from Indian River Fire Department had mobilized their three rescue boats and one had made contact with the second patient confirming a priority 4. Crews from IRVFC and the US Coast Guard loaded the patient and transported that patient to Masseys Landing. Crews from Station 91 responded to Masseys Landing with a second BLS unit to assist there if needed. Upon arrival of the 80 Marine unit, crews assisted IRVFC with offloading the patient and placed him in B-91 until the arrival of the Medical Examiner. In all two patients were injured, one was taken to Christiana ER via Trooper 2, the second was transferred to the ME after his arrival.
