School Bus Accident - Rt. 24 & Oak Orchard Road

Just after 1600 hours, Sussex EOC alerted Indian River (80), Station 91, and SCEMS Medic 106 and EMS 100 for a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus at the intersection of Oak Orchard Road and Rt. 24. C-91, B-91, and 91-10 responded within a minute and were advised of a mvc with unknown patients. C-91 arrived to find a school bus that had rearended a suv with one patient in the suv. As other units arrived, Chief Deery (80-15) staged units to keep traffic moving and had the additional BLS units check the bus for patients. Lt. Millman and Captain Johnson checked the bus driver who was not injured. There was one student on the bus who was also not injured. C-91 transported two priority three patients to BMC while B-91 obtained two refusals. Units on scene, 91-40, B-91, C-91, 91-10, 80-15, 80 Fire Units, Medic 106, DSP, DSFP, Indian River School District.
