Mid-Sussex
Just before 0800, Sussex EOC alerted Indian River (80), Station 91, SCEMS Medic 106, and Trooper 2 (DSP Avation) for a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Rt. 24 and Rosedale Road. Within minutes, 91-40 (Captain Johnson) arrived on the scene initially reporting three vehicles involved some in the roadway with two priority 2 patients and 2 priority 3 patients. Captain Johnson advised EOC to keep Trooper 2 coming and also requested three additional BLS to the scene. That request added B-83, C-83, and B-82 to the response. As C-91 and Medic 106 arrived, Captain Johnson advised that he was upgrading one of the priority 2 patients to a priority 1 and that he did have entrapment on one vehicle. He directed C-91 and the ALS unit to the vehicle with the priority patients. As Indian River units arrived, Chief Deery assumed the Command and fire crews began extrication. Indian River crews had the patient extricated within minutes and the patient was transported by ground (Trooper 2 was down due to weather) to BMC. B and C-83, as well as B-82 also transported patients. The scene was placed under control by Command and units cleared when ready. Units responding, 91-40, C-91, 91-10, 80 Fire Units, B-83, C-83, B-82, Medic 106, DSP, DSFP.
