Mid-Sussex
At 1806 hours, Sussex County EOC alerted Indian River, Station 91 and Medic 106 for a MVC on Rt. 24 in the area of McDonalds. Assistant Chief Ruckle (80-17) arrived on scene seconds after dispatch to find a single vehicle that had left the roadway and sideswiped a utility pole. Chief Ruckle advised that he had one patient confined in the vehicle and would need a door pop. Career Lieutenant Skip Millman (91-42) was the first EMS provider to arrive and was assigned to triage the patient. C-91 and Medic 106 arrived at 1810 and assisted Lt. Millman with patient care. 80 Fire units began to arrive and stabilize the vehicle and ready equipment for extrication. Fire units had the door popped in less then five minutes and the patient was removed to an awaiting ambulance. C-91 transported a priority 3 patient to BMC. Chief Ruckle placed the incident under control and returned all units. Units responding, 91-42, C-91, B-91, 80 Fire Units, DSFP, DSP,Medic 106.
