Mid-Sussex
On July 22, 2009 Station 91 went to the Boys and Girls club to show the kids what a EMT does in the field. Kids where able to get in all apparatus and ask questions about the units. They also had a presentation inside with how certain equipment works. They where shown backboards, stretcher, and the trauma bag used on scene, children also got a hand’s on experience with the equipment, and helped put each other on backboards, and how to use the automatic stretcher. Many thanks goes out to the staff of the Boys and Girls club for having us, and to the Volunteers, and Career Employees that participated in the event. 91 also handled three back to back emergency runs just prior to the event, with all ambulances getting out by first call.
