Just after 10 this morning, Station 91 and Medic 106 responded to Renaissance Nursing home for an emergency transport. After arriving, crews found a patient in excess of 800 pounds in need of transport. Knowing equipment on scene could not handle the patient, Sussex EOC was contacted and began to search for a unit that had the transport capability needed to transport this patient. Ambulance 70 responded for the transport. Once 70 arrived, Indian River (80) were alerted for a Rescue and manpower to assist with getting patient into unit. Indian River's crew built a ramp that allowed crews to roll the patient into the unit.
