Mid-Sussex
Just after 1630, Indian River Fire Co. was alerted to a brush fire in the Rehoboth Shores development off of Long Neck Road. As the call was being dispatched, crews from C-91 could see a large column of smoke in the area and advised Sussex EOC of the same. Brush 80 responded and was advised of multiple calls advising a large marsh fire with several exposures to homes. Captain Hawkins requested mutual aid from Millsboro and Lewes Fire Companies. Brush 80 arrived an advised the same requesting a structural response bringing various mutual aide to the scene including Station 91. Crews from 91 responded to the scene and assisted various crews with pulling hose to the affected area as well as evacuating residents out of the danger zone. Rehab 90 also responded to assist with firefighter rehab. Crews remained on scene until released by 80 Command. Units responding, A-91, C-91, 91-40, 91-8, Various fire units from around the County, Medic 106, DSFP, DSFM, Forestry.
