Just after 1700 hours, crews from Indian River Fire (80) and Station 91 were alerted for a MVC at the intersection of John J. Williams Hwy & Hollymount Rd. As the 91 units began responding, Sussex EOC advised they received multiple reports of a vehicle into a pole with conflicting stories on the number of patients or entrapment. A and C-91 arrived on location within three minutes to find a vehicle into a guardrail with no patients around. After furter investigation, bystanders advised that the patient ran on foot northbound on Hollymount Rd. Deputy Chief Millman (Deputy-91) advised DSP of the same. Crews from Station 80 arrived and secured the vehicles. Just as units were about to clear, Troopers located the driver and brought him back to the scene for evaluation. Patient refused treatment and was turned over to DSP. 91 units cleared. Units responding, A-91, C-91, 80 Fire Units, DSP, DSFP.
