Just as crews were sitting down to relax, employees and volunteers heard several knocks at the door and noticed several cars on the roadway and front pad in front of the station. When crews went to investigate, they were notified that a vehicle had ran into the woods just east of the Station. Around 1545, the crew responded with A-91 and advised the Sussex EOC of a single vehicle into the woods with heavy damage. Deputy Chief Millman arrived seconds later in 91-8 and confirmed a single vehicle into the woods, on its side, with at least one trapped. As crews investigated further, a second patient was located trapped underneath the first patient. Deputy Chief Millman immediately requested an additional helicopter, and Medic 106 requested a second ALS unit. As more manpower began to arrive, the patients condition began to worsen and both patients were rapidly extricated from the vehicle. Crews from A-91 and B-91 along with several county medic units packaged the patients and loaded into the units. Crews worked with both patients while awaiting avaition. Both patients conditions continued to worsen and the decision was made to trasport by ground to BMC. Both patients were transported Priority 1 to BMC. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
